Monica Victoria Lipka, age 94, of Hockessin passed away peacefully surrounded by her family on Friday, December 29, 2023.

Monica was born in Wilmington, Delaware.  She was the daughter of the late Victoria (Geswicki) and Frank Martin Gawinski.  Monica graduated from Wilmington High School and went on to work at Strawbridge's as a salesclerk and photographer until her retirement.  After retirement Monica and her husband, Joseph Lipka, moved to Pinehurst, North Carolina to pursue their love of golf.   While there they created many lasting friendships.  In her free time, Monica enjoyed spending time with her family and friends. In addition to her parents, Monica was predeceased by her loving husband, Joeseph Lipka in 2015.

Monica is survived by her daughters and their husbands, Suzanne (Bruce) Cheeseman and Monica (David) Gruber; five grandchildren; seven great grandchildren; and numerous close family and friends whom she all loved.

Funeral Services will be held privately.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggest donations in Monica's name to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.
