Miriam M. Harris, born on March 14, 1938, in Wilmington, DE, went home to be with the Lord on June 17, 2026. Miriam was the daughter of the late Catherine (Tobin) and Francis Montague. She graduated from St. Elizabeth’s High School in 1955 and received her certification in Medical Technology from St. Francis Hospital. She went on to spend 32 years, retiring at the age of 80, working at St. Ann’s Catholic School in Wilmington. Most importantly, Miriam was a dedicated Wife and Mother to her eight children. She cherished dancing and taking cruises with her husband of 63 years, Joseph. A creative spirit, she loved crafting and found joy in playing the piano. Miriam loved her cats and was known for her hair, always taking pride in keeping it neat and stylish. Above all, she treasured time with her family and delighted in seeing everyone gathered together. She enjoyed relaxing in the sunshine and embracing life’s simple pleasures. These were just some of the many things that brought Miriam joy and reflected the warmth, love, and spirit she shared with those around her.

In addition to her parents, Miriam was predeceased by her husband, Joseph A. Harris, Jr. in 2024 and her son, Joseph A. Harris, III in 2022. She is survived by her seven children, daughter Kathleen Malick and husband Jeff, son Michael and wife Michele, daughter Sharon Simons and husband John, son Stephen and his wife Judy, sons Thomas and David, and daughter, Jennifer Seramone and husband, Julian; her 13 grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Tuesday June 23rd at 10:30 A.M. at St. Ann’s Catholic Church, Gilpin and Union Streets, Wilmington, DE 19806. Burial will be held privately. In lieu of flowers, please send any contributions to The Cystic Fibrosis Foundation, 3803 West Chester Pike, Suite 217, Newtown Square, PA 19073.
