Milford H. Johnson, Jr., "Buddy" age 80, passed away peacefully surrounded by his family on December 16, 2024. Born in Wilmington, DE, he was the son of Frances (Fitzpatrick) and Milford Johnson. He graduated from P.S. duPont High School and St. Joseph's University with a degree in Business Administration. Buddy worked at Electric Hose and Rubber before beginning a lengthy career at NVF as an accountant/Supervisor. He also spent time working for his brother, Rick, as a Controller for Johnson Building Corporation. During retirement, Buddy enjoyed working at Bellevue State Park, admitting visitors to the entrance of the park. Buddy loved fishing, trips to Lewes Beach and rooting for the New York Yankees. Most of all, he cherished the time he spent with his grandchildren, taking family trips to Disney World and Lewes beach.  One of his favorite pastimes was watching his grandson, Dawson, play baseball.  He will be dearly missed by those closest to him.

Buddy is survived by his wife of 59 years, Carol Whitcraft Johnson; his children, Renee Johnson and Matthew (Brandilyn) Johnson; his grandchildren, Dawson, Emmett, and Bodey; his siblings, Mary Lou Black (Henry) and Francis Richard Johnson (Larisa Looby); and a host of nieces, nephews, and cousins with whom he was particularly close.

A visitation will be held on Saturday, January 4, 2025 from 10 A.M. to 11 A.M. with funeral services beginning at 11 A.M. at the Mealey Funeral Home, 2509 Limestone Road, Wilmington, DE 19808. Burial will be held privately. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests contributions to the Malan Syndrome Foundation, 15 Wendy Drive, Old Bridge, NJ 08857 or online at malansyndrome.org.
