Michael Albert DeSantis, 52, of Wilmington, went to be with his Savior on Tuesday, November 23, 2021, upon succumbing to previously sustained auto accident injuries.
Michael was born in Wilmington, the son of Carole A. (Wallace) and the late Albert A. DeSantis. He graduated from DelCastle Technical Vocational High School in 1987 where he was trained as a mason. Michael served as a United States Marine and was a self-employed home improvement contractor specializing in ceramic tile installation. He received strength and hope attending services at Immanuel Church in Wilmington. Michael was an avid motorcyclist and thoroughly enjoyed riding his prized Harley-Davidson DynaGlide.
Michael was preceded in death by his father Albert in 2020. He is survived by his mother and stepfather, Carole A., and Jim H. Hillegas of Wilmington; his brothers, Mark A. DeSantis and his wife, Janice A. of Newark; James M. DeSantis of Philadelphia, PA; his stepbrother, James D. Hillegas of Newark; his stepsister and her husband, Jamie Lynn and Keith Straub of Oklahoma City, OK; his nieces and nephews, Daniel M. and Lauren A. DeSantis, Max and Riley Kate Hillegas, Josh and Sarah Brinkley, and Austin Jenkins.
Family and friends may call at the MEALEY FUNERAL HOME, 2509 Limestone Road on Saturday, December 4, 2021, from 10:30 AM to 12:00PM. Services will begin at 12:00 PM. A private burial will be held at Delaware Veterans Memorial Cemetery, 2465 Chesapeake City Rd, Bear, DE 19701.
