Meroojan Mellian, "John" age 94, Milton, DE formerly of Newark, DE, peacefully passed away on June 10th, 2023.

Born in Manhattan, NY, he was the son of the late Victoria (Abrahamian) and Armen Mellian. He graduated from New York's Pratt Institute, with a degree in architecture. After getting married and having children, he moved his family to Newark, De where he worked for over 25 years as an architect for DuPont, prior to his retirement. John enjoyed years of traveling the world with his wife, Sema, and reminisced often of their adventures. He was an amateur photographer and  documented their trips through the eye of the lens. What made his heart smile most was to spend time with his children and grandchildren. He loved his family and is going to be missed.

In addition to his parents, Meroojan is predeceased by his loving wife of 57 years, Sema (Ohanian) Mellian; and his brother, Antranig Mellian. He is survived by his son, Mark Armen Mellian; his daughter and son-in-law, Elizabeth and Joe Boerner, Sr.; and his wonderful grandchildren, Helen and Gregory Ounjian.

A visitation will be held at Mealey Funeral Home, 2509 Limestone Road, Wilmington, DE on Thursday, June 15th from 11 A.M. to 11:40 A.M., followed by eulogies at 11:40 A.M. Burial will follow at 2 P.M. at Arlington Cemetery, 2900 State Road, Drexel Hill PA, 19026. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests contributions to Delaware Hospice.
