Age 87, of Newark, DE passed away on Wednesday, July 15, 2015 at the Brookdale White Chapel Center.Born in Wilmington, Mary was the daughter of the late Julia (Scully) and Daniel Kenny. She graduated from the St. Francis Hospital School of Nursing and worked as a registered nurse for various doctors over the years before her retirement. Her first husband, James Renzi, predeceased her in 1970 and her second husband, Calvin White, predeceased her in 2008. She was also predeceased by her siblings, Daniel, John, James and Joseph, Elizabeth, Catherine "Cas" and Anne.She is survived by her daughter, Moira Dougherty (Richard); her stepdaughter, Cynthia White; and her stepson, Gregory White. Also surviving is her grandson,Timothy Dougherty; step grandchildren, Steve White, Christy Artymenko (Matt), Leal Williams (Alicia), Avery Williams, Jade Cephas and Lauren Cephas; and 12 great grandchildren, Caitlin, Justin, Destiny, Athena, Izora, Xiomara, Elkanah, Benaiah, Reuel, Xavier, Nicholas and Giovanni and a host of nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews.The family would like to extend special thanks to the staff of Brookdale at White Chapel and Compassionate Care Hospice for the care they gave Mary over the past 6 years.Funeral services will be held at 11 AM on Monday, July 20th at Mealey Funeral Home, 2509 Limestone Road, Wilmington, where friends and family are invited to visitation after 10 AM.
