Obituary

Meg passed away on January 28, 2024 after a long illness. Born on December 17, 1945, she attended Holy Rosary Catholic School in Claymont, DE, graduated from Mount Pleasant High School, and retired from Discover Bank. Meg enjoyed gardening, scrapbooking, reading, Tootsie Rolls, and vacationing in the Outer Banks, NC, and Lewes, DE.

She was predeceased by her husband of 46 years, David Kinsler, Sr., son, David Kinsler, Jr., parents, Agnes (Schneider) and Hugh Smith, and brothers, Hughy, Christopher, and Timothy Smith.

She is survived by her daughter, Heather Grant of Melbourne Beach, FL, grandsons Justin Grant (Jasmine) and Travis Grant (Ciara), granddaughter Payton Kelley, 5 great-grandchildren, her sister Ann Benningfield (Lee) of Wilmington, DE, and her brother David Smith of Clearwater, FL.

The family would like to thank the staff of The Summit's memory care unit for their kind attention and care of Meg.

A visitation will be held on Saturday February 10th from 9 A.M. to 10 A.M. at the Mealey Funeral Home, 2509 Limestone Road Wilmington, DE 19808. A Mass of Christian Burial will follow at 10:30 A.M. St. John the Beloved Church, 907 Milltown Road Wilmington, DE 19808. Burial will follow at All Saints Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations be made to The Compassionate Friends located on 2800 Silverside Road, Wilmington, DE 19810.
