Marlene F. Coughlin, age 81, of Wilmington, passed away peacefully surrounded by her family on Monday, October 16, 2023.

Marlene was born in Wilmington, daughter of the late Catherine and John McLaughlin. Marlene went on to become a homemaker to raise her young family and spent her days crocheting and baking. In her free time, Marlene enjoyed taking bus trips to the casinos in Atlantic City, going to Delaware Park, spending time with her family and friends, especially her grandchildren, and more recently, visiting the Absalom Jones Senior Center. In addition to her parents, Marlene was predeceased by her loving husband, William J. Coughlin III; daughter, Tammy Sadler; and sisters, Debbie Creswell and Sandy Sheridan.

Marlene is survived by her son and his wife, William (Dawn) McClain; daughter, Lisa Hall; nine grandchildren; 16 great grandchildren; and numerous nieces, nephews, and close family friends whom she all loved.

A visitation for Marlene will take place on Wednesday, October 25, 2023, at the Mealey Funeral Home, 2509 Limestone Rd, Wilmington, DE 19808, where family and friends may visit from 10am to 11am, with a funeral service following at 11am. Burial will be held privately.
