Marion Joan Shriver, "Joan", age 82, of Newark, DE passed away peacefully surrounded by her sons on December 29th, 2024.

Born in Pittsburgh, PA, she was the daughter of the late Marion (Ross) and Joseph Kordyl. Joan graduated from Penn Hills High School in Pittsburgh and went on to spend over 20 years working in cosmetology at Sears Department Store. Later in life, she worked for Delaware Park in the surveillance department. Following retirement, Marion spent 12 years living in St. Petersburg, FL, relocating to Delaware once her grandchildren began to arrive. Joan was very active in her community, serving on the board of her condo association, enjoyed sewing, home repairs, and had a love of animals. She was a lifelong Pittsburgh Steelers fan.

Joan is survived by her sons and their spouses, Richard "Rick" and Stacie Shriver and Robert "Bob" and Gina Shriver; her grandchildren, Emily, Morgan, and Meghan Shriver; her great grandchildren, Mila and Lucas; and her sisters, Eleanor Haluck and Nancy Smith. In addition to her parents, Joan was predeceased by her husband, Leslie Shriver, in 2013.

Funeral services for Joan will be held privately at the Delaware Veterans Memorial Cemetery in Bear, DE.
