Marian B. (Salvatore) McCool, age 72 of Wilmington, DE, passed away peacefully on January 7, 2021 surrounded by her loving family. Marian was born in Wilmington, Delaware, to the late Margaret Bolen Salvatore and Joseph John Salvatore of Elsmere. Marian graduated from Corpus Christi High School in 1967 and attended the University of Delaware. She retained a close friendship with many of her classmates through the years. She started her career at DuPont and finished her career at Christiana Care. Marian is survived by her loving husband of 45 years, Joseph J. McCool; her children, Jodi Rivera (Cheito) and Joseph J. McCool, III; her six grandchildren, Alyssa, Giovanni, Joseito, Juliani, Valentino, and Angelo; her sisters, Louise Durney, Susan Chance (John); her brother, Joseph Salvatore (Patricia) and many nieces and nephews. Marian was a loving wife, sister, mother, and grandmother. Marian enjoyed baking, going to the beach, holiday celebrations, reading books, and her many dinners with her high school friends. She was very generous with her time and gifts to her family. She also loved spending time with her grandchildren. In short, Marian loved God, and family and friends. Her nature was friendly, loving, talkative, and full of laughter. A visitation will be held on Wednesday January 13th from 10AM to 11:45AM at the Mealey Funeral Home, 2509 Limestone Road Wilmington, DE 19808. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 12:30PM at Corpus Christi Church, 905 New Rd, Wilmington, DE 19805. Burial will follow at Cathedral Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, the family would appreciate Mass cards.
