Maria J. Acciarri, age 93, formerly of Rehoboth Beach, DE passed away on March 20, 2025.

Born in Vieste, Italy, she was the daughter of the late Carmela (DelPiano) and Cosimo DeToma.  She attended Penn State for her undergraduate degree, Texas Southern University for her accounting degree and Thurgood Marshall School of Law and graduated with a Juris Doctorate. Maria was self-employed as an attorney, member of the Texas bar, and member of the Sussex Democrats Club. In addition to her professional career, Maria loved spending time with her children and grandchildren and had a passion for traveling with her husband and continuing her education.

In addition to her parents, Maria was predeceased by her husband of 66 years, Jerry, in July 2022 and her brother Dominic (Tony) Detoma in May 2023. She is survived by her sister Lena Swartz, daughters, Julie Herrington (Keith), and Christie Acciarri; son, Tony Acciarri (Andie); grandchildren, Dara, Kiel, Gianna, Rae, and John Michael; and great granddaughter, Hayden.

Funeral services will be held privately.
