Margaret R. Emerson, age 83, of Wilmington, DE, passed away peacefully surrounded by her family on November 7, 2021. She was born in Towanda, PA, the daughter of the late Margaret (Whyte) and Frederick Hatch. She graduated from Goldey Beacom College and worked for Dupont until she transitioned into a full-time homemaker. She was a devoted wife, mother, daughter, aunt, sister and friend. Margaret had a love for all animals and enjoyed gardening and playing the piano. She was a devoted St. John the Beloved parishioner. In addition to her parents, Margaret was predeceased by her loving husband, Ronald F. Emerson; brother Frederick Hatch; sister Rachel Socha; and good friend, Patricia "Pat" Derrick. Margaret is survived by her daughters; Margaret "Meg" E. Emerson, Melani Murphy (Thomas); sons, Ronald and Jason Emerson; grandchildren; Noel, Kennedy (Scott), Amanda Pyle (Mike), Gavin Emerson; sisters, Mary Hatch and Catherine Burton (Richard). The family would like to give a special thank you to the staff of Rockland Place " Pathways" unit for the loving care provider to Margaret over the years but especially during Covid. A visitation will be held on Friday, November 12, 2021, at St. Matthews Roman Catholic Church, 901 E. Newport Pike, Wilmington, DE 19804, where friends and family may call from 10:30AM to 11:30AM with a Mass of Christian Burial beginning at 11:30AM. Burial will follow at All Saints Cemetery.
