Adams
December 1, 1938 – February 14, 2025
Marcia Jane Adams, age 86, passed away peacefully at her home on February 14th, 2025.
Born in Worcester, Massachusetts, she was the daughter of the late Ethel (Forss) and Leon Adams. After moving to the tri-state area, she graduated from Ambler High School in Ambler, PA, the Columbia Institute Business School in Philadelphia, and later attended the University of Delaware. Marcia spent her career working in police dispatch, initially in Michigan and finally in Delaware, retiring from the Newark Police Department. She took great pride in her work.
Marcia was a historian and volunteer at the Pencader Heritage Museum for over fifteen years. After moving to Delaware in 1998, she became emersed in Delaware native American and pre-civil war history, managing the transcription of documentation that led to the publication of The Original People: The Ancient Culture and Wisdom of the Lenni-Lenape People. She also volunteered at the Christiana Care Helen F. Graham Cancer Center.
The highlight and joy of her life were her two grandsons, Trevor and Dalton. She was involved in every aspect of their lives. Much of her life was devoted to them. Whether it was school, sporting events, trips around town or preparing yearly scrapbooks documenting their lives and achievements - they were the shining light of her life.
Marcia is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, David McNabb and Melissa Yarrusso McNabb; her grandson, Dalton McNabb; and her sister Judy Feig of Texas. Marcia was predeceased by her grandson, Trevor McNabb.
