Madlon Mae Buchanan (Mitchell), age 94, of Wilmington, DE, passed away peacefully at the home of her granddaughter, Cheri Woodall, on Monday, September 18, 2023.

Born in Wilmington, DE, Madlon was the daughter of the late George E. and Madlon (Golt) Mitchell. She was a homemaker and tended to her grandchildren and great grandchildren when they were younger. In addition to her parents, Madlon was predeceased by her siblings, Doris Porter and Gertrude Griffith; her daughter, Madlon Fox; her sons-in-law, Lawrence Mischler, Sr. and Wallace D. Fox; and her great grandson, Ronnie Deptula.

She will be dearly missed by her children, Georgette Mischler of Townsend, DE and John Buchanan, Jr. (Paulene) of Wilmington, DE; her grandchildren, Wally, Richard, David, Cheri, Larry, John, and Ashley; her great grandchildren, Ashlynn, Richard, Tara, Emma, Addison, Quinn, Libby, Sammy, and Bella; and her great great grandchildren, Maelynn, Jordan, and Dalton.

Friends and family are invited to a visitation on Wednesday, September 20, 2023 from 5:30 to 7:30PM at the Mealey Funeral Home, 2509 Limestone Road, Wilmington, DE. Funeral services will be held on Thursday morning, September 21, at 11:00AM. Interment will follow at Silverbrook Cemetery, Wilmington, DE.

The family would like to thank Delaware Hospice and MOHC at the Helen Graham Center for the wonderful care they gave Madlon during her illness.
