Lynne K. Baker, age 80, of Wilmington, passed away peacefully surrounded by her family on Saturday, October 25, 2025.
Lynne was born in Wilmington, daughter of the late Florence (Whitten) and Ernest Kamperman. Lynne graduated from Conrad high school and went on to become a secretary at the DuPont Experimental Station until her retirement. Lynne's faith meant a lot to her, and she was an active lifelong parishioner of St. James Episcopal Church in Millcreek. Lynne also had a soft spot for all animals and had previously volunteered at Faithful Friends Animal Society. In her free time, Lynne enjoyed knitting, attending bible study at St. James, reading to preschoolers, and spending time with her friends and family.
Lynne is survived by her daughter and her husband; Joelle (Scott) Lane; son, William "Bill" Baker; grandsons, Eric Baker and his wife Angela, William "Billy" Baker, Robert Byerly, and Jacob Byerly; great grandchildren, Mason Baker and Nathan Baker; sister and her husband, Karen (George) Shogan; two nephews; and numerous friends and extended family whom she all loved.
A visitation for Lynne will be held on Saturday, November 1, 2025, at St. James Espiscopal Church, 2106 St. James Church Rd, Wilmington, DE 19808, where friends and family may call from 10-11am, with funeral services following at 11am. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations in Lynne's name to Faithful Friends Animal Society, 165 Airport Rd, New Castle, DE 19720 (faithfulfriends.us)
