Lucia A. Horgan, 90, of Wilmington, passed away peacefully at her home on Wednesday, September 1, 2021 surrounded by her family.
Lucia was born in Wilmington, the daughter of the late Lucy (Caggiano) and Quinto Sulpizi. She was a graduate of Wilmington High School in 1949. She worked for Hercules and worked as a bank teller for Wilmington Trust Company in Newport and Greenville for over 10 years. She was an avid bowler and enjoyed spending time at the lanes with her girlfriends. She was predeceased by her husband, Cornelius J. Horgan in 1984; as well as her siblings, Fabio Sulpizi, Mary Sulpizi, Eleanor Romagnoli, and Angeline Marando.
Lucia is survived by her children and their spouses, Michael and Debbie Horgan of Aurora, CO, Steven and Cathy Jackson-Horgan of Wilmington, Patrick and Kim Horgan of Newark, Lynne and Doug Zelner of Coatesville, PA, Andrew Horgan and Lisa Ford, and Timothy and Tina Horgan, all of Wilmington; her grandchildren, Kelly and Casey, Cornelius (Jake) and Colin, Lindsay and Bethany, Ben and Becca, and Natalie and James; as well as her great-grandson, Carter.
Relatives and friends are invited to visit at the MEALEY FUNERAL HOME, 2509 Limestone Road on Tuesday evening, September 7, 2021 from 5 to 7 PM, where funeral services will be held on Wednesday morning, September 8, 2021 at 10:30 AM. Burial will be in All Saints Cemetery, Wilmington. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be sent to Meals on Wheels 100 W 10th St #207, Wilmington, DE 19801.
