Louis Philip Brancati, age 91, of Wilmington, DE passed away at his home surrounded by his loving family on March 28, 2021. Born in Marcus Hook, PA, he was the son of the late Lucy (Salsano) and Domenick Brancati. He served his country proudly in the United States Army during the Korean War as a member of the 21st Infantry Regiment and 29th Infantry Division. After returning home, Lou worked as a Materials Buyer for Sun Oil in Marcus Hook until his retirement in 1983. Lou was an avid golfer, even achieving a "hole-in-one" at Ed Oliver Golf Course. He also enjoyed bowling and was a good card player, especially poker. In addition, Lou was a longtime member of both Holy Rosary and St. Matthew's Catholic Church. In addition to his parents, Lou was predeceased by his siblings, Domenick Brancati, Angela MacDonald, Anna Donnelly, and Danny Brancati. Lou is survived by his wife of 69 years, Gloria (Ficca) Brancati; his sons, Mark of Wilmington, Andrew (Pamela) of Newark, Dominic (Mary) of Bear; his daughter, Lisa Weston (Michael) of Goldsboro; his grandchildren, Philip, Anne Marie, Kelsey, Gabrielle, Marisa, and Nicole; his great grandchildren, Kitana, Tiana, Chase, Mason, and Hadley; and a host of nieces, nephews, and extended family. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at St. Matthew's Catholic Church, 901 E Newport Pike, Wilmington, DE 19804, on Monday April 5, 2021 at 11AM. Burial will be held privately. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations to Seasons Hospice, 220 Continental Dr Ste 407. Newark, DE 19713 and would like to thank both Theresa and Beth of the Season's staff who regularly attended to both Lou and Gloria's needs with grace and compassion.
