Obituary

Born Lois June Sampson on January 28th, 1932 on a farm in Garden City Iowa, she was the eighth child of Inger Larsdatter Sampson and Christopher Cornelius Sampson (aka Cernal). On December 30, 2022, Lois passed away peacefully at the age of 90. She was the last surviving member of her family of origin.

After meeting the love of her life Richard Albert Biddle (1930 - 2020) at Iowa State University, they were married In Radcliffe, Iowa on September 10, 1955 and welcomed their first son Rick in 1956. Soon to follow were three additional sons; Jeff, Paul and Dave.

Lois adored her role as a mother and was the ultimate homemaker. She was always busy in the kitchen preparing a wonderful meal or conjuring up baked goods from her family's shared recipes that she loved, such as Kringla, and other traditional foods from her Norwegian ancestry.

The Biddle's were residents of Newark, Delaware and Elkton Maryland. When Lois was not busy caring for her home and family, she enjoyed devoting her time and talents as a proud founding member at St. Paul's Lutheran Church: Altar Guild, Busy Hands, WELCA, Bridge Club and the LCW club.

They spent their leisure time either with family at their vacation home in Brigantine NJ, or traveling to visit their boys and their families in Denver, Orlando and Phoenix.

She is survived by her children; Rick,(Anne) Jeff,(Liz) Paul,(Joanne) and Dave,(Irene),her ten grandchildren; Rickey, Matt, Katie, Lauren, Jason, Nicole, Max, Joy, Rachele and Christopher and three great grandchildren; Olivia, Madison and Drew.

Funeral services will be held at 11am on January 12, 2023 at St. Paul's Lutheran Church, 701 S. College Ave., Newark, De. 19713
