Leonard V. Lundberg His course on earth well run, Leonard V. Lundberg passed away on January 3, 2021, in Delmar, MD. He was 89 years old. Born in Hartford, CT as an only child to Victor and Ruth Lundberg, Len's parents had immigrated to America from Sweden. Len graduated from Hartford Public High School in 1950. He received a congressional appointment to the United States Military Academy at West Point, NY, and graduated in 1954. Len's active-duty tours included Fort Benning, GA, Fort Carson, CO, and an overseas tour to Heilbronn, Germany. He was a proud member of Company B 28th US Infantry Regiment 8th Infantry Division. Len then joined the Army reserve and during summers became a military instructor at Fort Meade, MD, and Fort Bragg, NC. Len served a total of 22 years and retired as Lt. Colonel (USAR). Len's entry into the field of education began in 1961 as a graduate student at Springfield College, MA, where he attained a Master of Science degree. After teaching mathematics at a private school, Len moved to Newark, DE, and taught at Brandywine Springs Jr. High School. He then transitioned from teaching, choosing to be a school administrator in Middletown, DE (10 years), Elkton, MD (10 years), and Rising Sun, MD (8 years). Len loved nature walks, birding, and taking RV trips to Acadia National Park in Maine. Len was predeceased by his living wife, Barbara, and their daughter, Debra Sue Bailey. He is survived by his three sons, Daniel C. Lundberg, Philip A. Lundberg, and David P. Lundberg; two granddaughters, Alexandra Lundberg and Samantha Lundberg.
