Laurie Ann Mathew, age 59, of Wilmington, passed away on Sunday, November 2, 2025.

Laurie was born in Wilmington, daughter of Geraldine "Gerry" (Roach) and the late Edward "Jan" Swarter. Laurie graduated from Del Castle high school, class of 1984. Laurie was a loving caregiver for many in her family and was always there to help anyone who was in need. In her free time, Laurie enjoyed doing word searches, discussing politics with her family, and spending time with her friends and family, especially her grandson. In addition to her father, Laurie was also predeceased by her son, Connor Mathew.

Laurie is survived by her daughter, Haley Mathew; son, and his wife, Zachary (Megan) Baranowski; grandson, Easton Baranowski; mother, Geraldine "Gerry" Swarter; brother and his wife, Stephen (Dawn) Swarter; sister, Lynn Swarter; and numerous nieces, nephews, and close family friends whom she all loved.

A visitation for Laurie will be held on Tuesday, November 11, 2025, at the Mealey Funeral Homes, 2509 Limestone Rd, Wilmington, DE 19808, where friends and family may call from 10-11 am, with a funeral service following at 11 am. Burial will follow at All Saints Cemetery.
