Laura Jean Rivera, age 68, of Port St. Lucie, FL, passed away surrounded by her family at Christiana Hospital in Newark, DE on October 29, 2021. Born in Patchogue, NY, she was the daughter of the late Anne (DiMarco) and Anthony Gazzola. Laura worked alongside her family at their UPS Store and following retirement, enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren. Laura will be welcomed into heaven by her fur babies, Heidi, Max, Angel, Latte, Pebbles and Buddy. Laura will be missed by her children and their spouses, Christina and Wayne MacMullen, David Rivera, Timothy and Melissa Rivera, and Jacquelyn and Angel Rivera; her grandchildren, Rebecca, Chace, Tori, Anthony, Andrew, Isabelle, Deijahn, and Eli; her Ex-husband Dave; her beloved friends; and her fur babies, Bella, Pebbles, and Pumba. Laura's favorite hobbies were reading, going on cruises, playing bunko with friends, and spoiling her grandkids. She was known to never hold her tongue and for that, everyone loved her. The family wishes to send a special thank you to the staff at Christiana Hospital for their care and compassion as her children flew in to watch over her care during such an unexpected event. Funeral services will be held privately. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations to The Humane Society of St. Lucie County.
