Obituary

Kenneth Earl Weiford, 63, of Wilmington, DE, passed away at home on Tuesday, July 26, 2022.

Kenneth was born in Parkersburg, WV, the son of the late LeAnna and William L. Weiford of Parkersburg, and later, Salisbury, NC. He graduated from Parkersburg High School with the class of 1977, and attended West Virginia University before enlisting in the United States Air Force. He served 11 years as an accounting and finance specialist. His service took him to several locations, including Texas, South Korea, and finally, Delaware. Among his awards are the Air Force Commendation Medal, the Good Conduct Medal, and the National Defense Service Medal.

After his Air Force service and honorable discharge, Ken completed his bachelor degree in accounting, and subsequently passed the Delaware exam to become a registered and certified CPA. Along with a few partners, Ken started a CPA firm specializing in tax accounting. The firm grew to include clients along the eastern seaboard.

Ken is survived by his daughters, Robyn Weiford (Jesse), Stephanie Angliss (Jonathan), and Heather Weiford. His grandchildren are Tristan and Christopher (CJ) Weiford, Christopher Angliss, Marc Weiford; Justin and Amara.

Surviving siblings include Virginia Gibson (Blake) of Peachtree City, GA; William Weiford, Jr. (Mary) of Colorado Springs, CO; Louise Pring of Salisbury, NC; and Stephen Weiford (Roslea) of Salisbury, NC. His family also includes six nieces and nephews, and eight great-nieces and great-nephews.

A Celebration of Life will be held in the near future for family and friends. Notification will be sent at a later date.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the American Cancer Society in memory of Ken.
