Kenneth L. "Ken" Johnson, age 61, passed away suddenly on June 28, 2023.

Ken was born in Elk Mountain, Wyoming and graduated from the University of Wyoming where he studied mathematics and played golf for the Cowboys. After graduation, Ken continued to play golf and began a career in the hospitality industry working for several large hotel chains. Ken developed a love for travel and adventure which led him to live in areas as diverse as Iowa, Key West, and South Texas, where he was an avid fisherman and charter boat captain. Ken finally settled in Delaware in 2001, where he became a PGA teaching professional, working for several years at Rock Manor Golf Course in Wilmington, Delaware, before once again changing career paths.  In addition to his love of fishing and golf, Ken enjoyed watching sports and was a passionate fan of the Phillies, Eagles, Flyers, Denver Broncos, and University of Wyoming Cowboys.

Ken is survived by his longtime friends, Monica Ayres & Bridget Zernell, in addition to countless others whose relationships he truly cherished. Ken was a friend to everyone he met and was always up for sharing good conversation and bad beer.

A celebration of life for Ken will take place on Thursday, July 20th, 2023, from 7 pm to 10 pm at the Elks Lodge at 1310 Carruthers Lane in Wilmington, Delaware 19803.

In keeping with Ken's personality and our desire to celebrate Ken's life rather than mourn his loss, attendees are requested to wear casual clothes, such as golf attire, sports jerseys or t-shirts, ball caps, etc., rather than dark suits.
