Katie Justine Grandell, a beloved mother, daughter, sister, aunt, and friend, peacefully passed away on October 14, 2024. She was preceded in death by her grandparents, Kathleen and Dr. Peter Grandell, and Betty Flynn, as well as her father, Peter Grandell.

Katie was born in Elkton, MD. She attended Elkton High School, class of 2003 where she excelled in softball and field hockey. She was living in Greenville, NC for the last eight years but remained a devoted Eagles fan.

Katie is survived by her children, Jared, Ashlynn, Isabella, Conor, Cali, and Carson. They were her greatest joy, and she loved them with her whole heart.

She also leaves behind her mother, Darnel Grandell; sisters, Christine Colihan (James), Carrie Brockell (Rick), and Amy Landua (Jon); and niece and nephew, Peyton and Ricky Brockell.

Her free spirit, fun-loving nature, and warm heart will be deeply missed by everyone who was touched by her humor, generosity, and genuine care for others.

A memorial service to honor Katie's life will be held later. The family appreciates your understanding and support during this difficult time. In lieu of flowers, the family encourages you to hold your loved ones close and consider donating to a charity of your choice in Katie's memory. Her legacy of kindness will continue to live on in the hearts of all who knew her.
