Kathleen J. Fenimore, age 87, of Newark, Delaware, passed away peacefully on August 4, 2026.

Born in Wilmington, Delaware, she was the daughter of the late Frank and Marion (Gooden) Broadway. Kathy graduated from William Penn High School and began her career in the typing pool at DuPont, where she worked for 10 years. She later chose to dedicate herself to raising her family, a role in which her love, kindness, and devotion shined brightest.

In addition to her parents, Kathy was preceded in death by her beloved husband, John Nolan Fenimore; her brother, Ronald Broadway; and her son, Keith Nolan Fenimore.

She is lovingly remembered by her children, Kevin J. Fenimore (Scott Forrest), Kimberly Ann Fenimore, and Kelly Fenimore; her grandchildren, Tamara Hardifer, Sarah Wells, and Joshua Fenimore; nine great-grandchildren; one great-great-granddaughter; and many extended family members and dear friends.

Kathy was a longtime member of the Newark Charitable and Social Club and enjoyed participating in many activities at the Newark Senior Center, where she formed lasting friendships. She and her friends delighted in being among the first to try new restaurants and were always eager to recommend their favorites to family and friends.

She took great pride in keeping a beautiful home, complete with a meticulously maintained garden, and found great joy in welcoming family and friends into her home. Kathy will be remembered for her warmth, generosity, unwavering love for her family, and the many happy memories she created with those she loved.

Family and friends are invited to a visitation on Saturday, August 8, from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. at the Mealey Funeral Home, 2509 Limestone Road, Wilmington, DE 19808. The funeral service will begin at 11:00 a.m. Interment will be held privately at Gracelawn Memorial Park.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial contributions be made to the Delaware Center for Horticulture, 1810 N. DuPont Street, Wilmington, DE 19806, https://thedch.org/donate/ or your favorite charity in her memory.
