Katherine Laura Edwards, "Kay" age 68, of Wilmington, DE passed away surrounded by her family on November 24th, 2024. Born in North Branch, NJ, Katherine was the daughter of the late Theodora "Teddy" (Martin) and Andre "Andy" Korenyi. She graduated from Cinnaminson High School and Burlington County Community College. Kay went on to spend time working in the Credit industry before becoming a homemaker for her two young daughters.

Kay enjoyed spending time with her husband, George, and her daughters at the Delaware beaches, including Bethany Beach and Fenwick Island. In their younger years, Kay and George enjoyed skiing, bowling and traveling together. Kay was diagnosed with multiple sclerosis in 1996, she had a passion for raising awareness of the illness in the community. Kay was kind, thoughtful and loved by those closest to her.

In addition to her parents, Kay was predeceased by her brothers, Walter "Wally" Korenyi and Karl Korenyi. She is survived by her husband of 43 years, George Richard Edwards; her children, Alyssa Edwards and Victoria "Tori" Edwards; her brother, Theodore "Thad" Korenyi; her sister-in-laws, Joan Robertson and Joanne Korenyi; her longtime family friends, Pamela and Dennis Hall; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and extended family.

A visitation will be held at the Mealey Funeral Homes, 2509 Limestone Road Wilmington, DE 19808, from 11 A.M. to 12 P.M. on Wednesday December 4th. Burial will follow at All Saints Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests contributions to The National Multiple Sclerosis Society, P.O. Box 91891 Washington, D.C. 20090-1891
