Kanokporn "Pat" Sonthijaroen, age 61, of New Castle, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, January 2, 2023.

Pat was born in Lopburi, Thailand, daughter of Prue and the late Thongdee Sonthijaroen. She graduated from Phiboon Wittayalai with an associate degree. She immigrated to the United States in 2006 began working as a Housekeeper for multiple nursing homes. She also was a server at the Soybean Asian Grill for over 14 years, where she loved talking and getting to know all her customers. She was known for her great work ethic, working two jobs for many years. In her free time, Pat enjoyed gardening her flowers, her famous Thai hot peppers, cooking, and going to services at the Buddhist Temple in Dover, DE and Philadelphia, PA. In addition to her father, Pat was predeceased by her son, Suthin Sonthijaroe; her sister Wanpen Pooltien; and her brother, Sommai Sonthijaroen

Pat is survived by her son, Suthep "Aun" Prasertsantisuk; sisters, Usa Orkman and Suphit Worrasakul; and numerous nieces, nephews, and close family friends whom she all loved.

A visitation for Pat will be held on Saturday, January 14, 2023, at the Mealey Funeral Homes, 2509 Limestone Rd, Wilmington, DE 19808, where friends and family may call from 9 to 11AM, with a celebration of life beginning at 11AM. Burial will be held privately.
