June Carol
Kelly
June 26, 1935 – June 5, 2026
June Kelly answered to many names throughout her life: June, Junebug, Mom, Aunt June and Grandma June. No matter what name you called her, one thing remained constant, her family was the center of her world.
June's greatest joy was loving and caring for the people around her. She devoted herself to her family and made sure they always knew how deeply they were loved. Her grandchildren, Paige and Phil, were among her greatest treasures. From kindergarten through high school, she helped raise them and made sure a delicious dinner was waiting every day (perhaps made especially delicious by her generous use of butter).Whatever her secret ingredient was, it worked. Both Paige and Phil grew into wonderful cooks themselves, carrying on her love of food and family.
June was a gifted artist whose beautiful portraits and artwork fill her daughter Linda's home, serving as daily reminders of her creativity and talent. She played guitar and sang with a rich, smoky voice that was uniquely hers and instantly recognizable to everyone who knew her.
Family gatherings were among June's happiest times. She eagerly anticipated holidays spent surrounded by those she loved, including Paige and Collin, Phil and Liz, and her beloved great-grandsons, Will and Luke. She looked forward to her Friday evening phone calls with Bridget, visits from Kelly and daily calls from her son Lou. His humor often left her laughing until tears rolled down her cheeks.
In her later years, June was lovingly cared for by her daughter Linda and son Lou whose devotion, compassion, and tireless support brought comfort and dignity to her life. June also shared a special bond with Linda's dear friends, who loved her as if she were their own mother. She cherished each of them and was grateful for the friendship, laughter, and companionship they brought.
While we will miss her deeply, we find comfort in knowing that she is at peace and reunited with the love of her life, her husband Hal.
The family extends its heartfelt gratitude to the compassionate and caring staff of AccentCare Hospice at Wilmington Hospital, whose kindness and support brought comfort during June's final days.
She's now reunited with the love of her life Hal, and crabbing on their favorite boat Hal's Lady.
