Julie M. Valencik, age 86 of Wilmington, DE passed away quietly on Sunday, June 28, 2015 at the Envoy of Denton, Denton Md.Julie was born December 13, 1928 in Queens, NY, the youngest of nine children of the late Louis and Blanche Rostkowski. She was a graduate of Grover Cleveland High School. After High School she worked as a Secretary for Pan Am Airlines for several years. She then married Chuck, the love of her life, and moved to Delaware to raise their 5 children. Years later, she worked as a Secretary at James H. Groves Adult High School. Finally she worked as a partner and bookkeeper for Valco Development, a company founded by her husband, daughter Karen and herself. For many years she volunteered at Parish Life a part of St. John the Beloved Church where she was a member for 58 years. She served as a Eucharistic Minister for over 10 years.Left to cherish her memory are her children, Diane J. Reksten (Harald), Charles L. Valencik, Jr (Paula); Mark R. Valencik (Kim) and Janet L. Valencik; her sister Stephanie Gallissech of Queens, NY, five grandchildren, four great grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Charles L. Valencik and a daughter, Karen A. Valencik.A Funeral service will be held on Monday, July 6, 2015 at 11:00 a.m. at Mealey Funeral Home, Limestone and Milltown Roads, Wilmington where visitation will begin at 10:00 a.m. Burial will follow graveside at All Saints Cemetery.
