Judith Anne (Wivel) Walsh passed away peacefully on Thursday, March 8, 2018. She was born in Wilmington, Delaware on August 24, 1939 to the late Lauren Sherman and Anna Johnson Wivel.Judy graduated from the University of Delaware with a degree in Special Education. She taught briefly in Charlotte, NC then moved back to Delaware where she raised her three children. After her children were grown, she recertified at the University of Delaware and went on to teach Special Education for over 15 years at Delcastle Technical High School where she retired in 2004 with perfect attendance.She is survived by her children Lauren (Gabe), Lynne, Patrick (Debbie), her two grandchildren Brendan and Keira, and her two sisters Laurraine and Lois.A visitation with the family will be held on Thursday, March 15th from 1:30-3:30pm at Mealey Funeral Home 2509 Limestone Road Wilmington, DE 19808.In lieu of flowers please consider a donation to Alzheimer's Association Delaware Valley 399 Market Street, Suite 102 Philadelphia, PA 19106 or Delaware SPCA 455 Stanton Christiana Road Newark, DE 19713.
