Joyce Ann Roberts (nee Heckler), 73, of Wilmington, DE, was taken by the Lord unexpectedly on February 16, 2024, in Newark, Delaware.

She was born in Wilmington, Delaware on March 14, 1950. Joyce was a very kind, personable, and giving person. She would do anything for anyone if they asked. She had a challenging life and relied heavily on her Faith for guidance and support, never losing hope. Joyce worked for the Christina School District for over 20 years, working as a Secretary at Christina Business Office, Christina High School, and Newark High School. She was dedicated to her career and made a lasting impact on those around her. Joyce enjoyed knitting and being part of the Crochet Club and Nar-Anon. She worshiped regularly at Elizabeth Ann Seton Catholic Church for over 40 years, finding solace and community in her faith.

Joyce was preceded in death by her parents, William and Elizabeth Heckler; daughter, Tracy Ann Roberts; brother, William G Heckler; sister, Elizabeth Ann Matarese (nee Heckler) (Michael); and sister-in-law, Alice Heckler (nee Taylor). She is survived by her son, Michael Roberts; granddaughter Alexis Rossello; sisters LaVera Blanck (Bob), and Joan Wasylyszyn (Michael); and as well as numerous nephews and nieces.

A visitation will be held at St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Catholic Church, 345 Bear Christiana Rd, Bear, DE 19701, on Saturday February 24th from 10 A.M to 11 A.M. with a Mass of Christian Burial to begin at 11 A.M. Burial will be held privately at All Saints Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests contributions in Joyce's name to St. Elizabeth  Ann Seton Catholic Church, 345 Bear Christiana Rd, Bear, DE 19701.
