Age 96, of Newark, DE passed away peacefully at New Castle Health and Rehabilitation Center on Sunday, July 3, 2016.Joseph was born in Wilmington, DE to the late Amelia (Sagnella) and Vincent Casapulla. He worked as a machinist at Carney Machinery until his retirement. Joe loved to play the accordion while his brother Alfred accompanied him with the guitar.Joseph was predeceased by his loving wife, Mary E. (Scott) Casapulla in 1968. Joe is also predeceased by two daughters, Sandra Marcozzi and Marie Chadwick; two brothers, Daniel and Frankie Casapulla; and two sisters, Madeline Casapulla and Marie Capicciotti; one great grandchild, Bret Joseph Francisco Smith.Joe is survived by three daughters and their husbands; Joanne Francicsco and her husband, Gerald of Newark, DE, Rose Casapulla and her husband, Jerry Proffitt of Newark, DE, Deborah DeMarco and her husband, Raymond of New Castle, DE; and one son, William Casapulla of Newark, DE. Also surviving are 17 grandchildren, several great grandchildren and several great great grandchildren and one brother, Alfred Casapulla.Funeral service will be held at the MEALEY FUNERAL HOME, 2509 Limestone Road, Wilmington, DE. 19808 on Saturday, July 9, 2016 at 10:30 AM where a visitation with family will be held after 9:30 AM.
