Jose Sanchez

Jose Luis Sanchez Torres, age 63, of Wilmington, Delaware, passed away peacefully surrounded by his family on October 15, 2026.

Born and raised in Santa Isabel, Puerto Rico, he was the son of Leoni “Leoni” Torres and the late Carlos Juan Sanchez.

Jose was an ornery, kindhearted, and charismatic man who knew how to light up a room and bring a smile to those around him. He enjoyed gardening, sharing good meals with family and friends, and embracing life’s simple pleasures. He was incredibly proud of his three daughters and their accomplishments, who will forever cherish his memory and the love they shared.

In addition to his father, Jose was predeceased by his brothers, Miguel and Carlos R. Sanchez, and his sister-in-law, Yadira Sanchez. He is survived by his daughters, Jessica, Jennifer, and Jayline Sanchez; his mother, Leoni “Leoni” Torres; and his brothers, Julio Sanchez (Nelly) and Carlos Sanchez Jr.

Funeral services will be held privately in Puerto Rico, where Jose will be laid to rest alongside his grandmother, Norberta, and his brothers, Miguel and Carlos. He will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered by his family and friends.
