Age 87, of Wilmington, DE, passed away peacefully at his residence at Parkview Nursing & Rehabilitation Center.Born in Wilmington, DE, John was the son of the late Jesse and Mabel C. (Hallahan) Wicks. He served his country proudly in the US Army during the Korean War. Later, he was employed by the DuPont Company, Edgemoor Site as an electrician, retiring in 1993 after 46 years. He was a former member of St. Mary Magdalen Church,He is survived by his sister and brother-in-law, Mary A. and Orville Bursler of Lewes; a sister-in-law, Lois Wicks of Newport; and several nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, John was predeceased by two brothers, Michael and James Wicks.Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated to Wednesday, April 29th at 11 AM at. St. Elizabeth Church, Cedar and Clayton Streets, Wilmington, where friends and family are invited to visitation after 10 AM. Interment will follow at the Delaware Veterans Memorial Cemetery, Bear.In lieu of flowers, the family suggests contributions to the Alzheimers Association, 240 N.
