John Andrew Tubbs, age 54, passed away peacefully surrounded by his family on Saturday, November 13, 2021. John was born in Wilmington, son of Julia Mary (Lazar) and the late Thomas Matthew Tubbs. He attended Dickinson and Hodgson Vocational Technical high schools and became a machine operator at Croda. John was also a volunteer firefighter and a musician, with his instrument of choice being the drums. In his free time, John loved hunting, fishing, anything that had to do with his motorcycles and classic cars, drawing, and woodworking. In addition to his father, John was also predeceased by his brother, Thomas David Tubbs. John is survived by his loving wife, Donna Tubbs; son, Thomas Matthew Tubbs II; step son, Chris Joseph McCabe; brothers, Stephen R. Tubbs and Mark Richard Tubbs; and sister, Diane Brock. A visitation will be held on Tuesday, November 23, 2021 from 11 A.M. to 12 P.M. with funeral services beginning at 12 P.M. at the Mealey Funeral Home, 2509 Limestone Road Wilmington, DE 19808. Burial will be held privately. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations in John's name to the Cancer Research Foundation, 3354 N.
