Age 68, of Newark, DE, passed away suddenly on February 2, 2016 surrounded by his family.John was the son of the late John Morrison and Leora (Campbell) Talley. He served in the Vietnam War and earned his degree from Goldey Beacom College. John married the love of his life, Geraldine "Geri" A. (DiNorscia) Talley.John was employed by ACE Insurance Company for 36 years. He held many titles including Finance Controller of ACE INA International Holding.Coach Talley was a mainstay with Newark National Little League for over 20 years. He coached many all star teams that went on to win several state championships. At the time of his death he was the head coach of the freshman baseball team at Saint Mark's High School.John is survived by his wife of 42 years, Geri; his children and their spouses, Justine and Kris, Brad and Doreen, and Kyle and Brenda; eight grandchildren; Jake, Chase, Alyssa, Brayden, Eliana, Gia, Flynn and Luke. He was predeceased by his sister, Elaine White.John was an avid sport enthusiast, enjoyed the theatre, loved traveling and was the consummate family man. One of his greatest joys was spending time with his family at Ocean City, MD. He will be missed.Friends and family are invited to Mealey Funeral Home, 2509 Limestone Road, Wilmington, DE for visitation on Monday, February 8th beginning at 1:00 PM to 3:00 PM with a celebration of John's life thereafter.
