John "Jack" Patrick Brooks, Sr. age 75, of New Castle, DE passed away on July 15th, 2019. Born in Philadelphia, he was the son of the late Anne (Doherty) and Peter Brooks. He served in the United States Air Force and worked as a salesman in the lumber industry. Jack was a Scout Master of Troop 919 and an Eucharistic Minister at St. Catherine of Siena Church. In addition to his parents, Jack was predeceased by his wife, Carolyn Brooks; brother, James-"Jimmy" Brooks; and his sisters, Catherine "Kitty" Welsh and Barbara Kuruc.Jack is survived by his sons, John "Sean" Patrick Brooks, Jr. and his wife Jennifer of Fawn Grove, PA and Jeffrey Brooks of Wilmington, DE; his grandchildren, Shane, Catherine, Alyssa, Angelina, and Emma; his brothers, Thomas Brooks and his wife Janice of California, and Peter Brooks of Hershey, PA; and his sister, Patricia McPhillips of Willow Grove, PA.A visitation will be held on Thursday July 18 from 5-6 P.M. with funeral services beginning at 6 P.M. at the Mealey Funeral Home, 2509 Limestone Road Wilmington, DE 19808. Burial will be private.
