Age 88, of Wilmington, passed away at Christiana Hospital on January 21, 2015. Mr. McNeill was born in County Antrim, Northern Ireland, the son of the late Nellie (McDowell) and Henry McNeill. In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by two brothers and a sister. John retired after 40 years as a tractor trailer mechanic for Brake & Equipment and Harvey & Harvey. He was a member of Limestone Presbyterian Church. John is survived by his wife of 57 years, Elizabeth (Boyle) McNeill; his son Jeffrey J. McNeill and his wife Carol of Avondale, PA; his daughter, Gail McNeill of Wilmington; his grandchildren, Jeffrey J., Jr. "JJ", Gareth and Sloane and his three sisters and two brothers. Funeral services will be held at Limestone Presbyterian Church, 3201 Limestone Road, Wilmington, DE 19808 on Wednesday, February 4, 2015 at 1 PM, where friends may call after 12 Noon.
