John Paul "Jack"
Gallagher
October 7, 1945 – January 24, 2023
John Paul "Jack" Gallagher, age 77, of Wilmington, DE passed away surrounded by his family on January 24, 2023.
Born in Philadelphia, PA he was the son of the late Margaret (Kelly) and John Gallagher. He was a proud graduate of Villanova University and an enthusiastic fan of Villanova Wildcats basketball. After completing his master's degree in chemistry at Catholic University, he spent his 36-year career at DuPont, retiring as a Senior Research Fellow. He was admired by his colleagues for his sage advice and kind mentorship.

As Jack often said, he and his wife, Meg, were a "great team" who enjoyed many adventures in their life together, including traveling, golfing, and living in Venezuela. Their companionship was something he treasured. Jack's strong faith guided him throughout his life. He and Meg were longtime parishioners at St. Mary of the Assumption Parish in Hockessin.
In addition to his parents, Jack was predeceased by his granddaughter, Allison Moore.
