John J. Fitzpatrick "Jack"Age 87, of Wilmington, DE, passed away peacefully on Friday, August 31, 2018, at Compassionate Care Hospice.Born in Wilmington, Jack was the son of the late Francis and Virginia (Worth) Fitzpatrick, and was a graduate of P.S. duPont High School. He served his country proudly in the U.S. Army during the Korean War. He attended Goldey Beacom College where he earned an Associates Degree. Jack retired from Speakman Company in 1996 after spending the majority of his professional career there. His wife, Margaret (Holleran) Fitzpatrick, predeceased him.Jack is survived by his son and daughter-in-law, Timothy Fitzpatrick and Kerry Marks of East Lyme, CT; his daughter and son-in-law, Nora Fitzpatrick and Robert Stephens of Gaithersburg, MD; and three grandchildren, Grace and Rory Stephens and James Fitzpatrick. Additionally, he will be greatly missed by many nieces, nephews, and his dear friend, Phyllis Episcopo.Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Tuesday, September 11, at noon, at St. Helena's Church, 602 Philadelphia Pike, Wilmington, DE, where friends and family are invited to visitation after 11 AM. Burial will follow at the Delaware Veterans Memorial Cemetery, Bear, DE.
