Johannah V.
Wojcik
December 30, 1934 – April 29, 2026
Johannah V. Wojcik, age 91, of Wilmington, Delaware, entered eternal life on April 29, 2026, fortified by the Sacraments of the Holy Catholic Church.
Born on December 30, 1934, in Hazleton, Pennsylvania, Johannah was the beloved daughter of the late Joseph and Catherine Makavage.
She is survived by her devoted husband of 72 years, Andrew Wojcik; and their children: Marie Danz (Jimmy), Patricia Wojcik Morris, and Andrew Wojcik (Bob). Johannah was a loving and devoted grandmother to Allison, Amanda (David), Nicholas (Miranda), Alex (Lindsay), and Hannah, and a cherished great-grandmother to Kelsie, Macey, Grace, Kennan, Faith, Lillian, McKenna, Nicholas Jr., and Dylan. She is also survived by her sister, Noreen Horvath, and her dear friend, Suzanne.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her beloved daughter, Andrea Williams; her granddaughter, Jill; and her sister, Agnes Petrylak.
Johannah and Andrew relocated from Nuremberg, Pennsylvania, to Wilmington, Delaware, in 1955. A faithful parishioner of St. John the Beloved Parish since 1956, Johannah lived a life guided by a deep and unwavering Catholic faith. She held a profound devotion to the Blessed Virgin Mary, expressed through her lifelong participation in the Sodality, the Blue Army of Our Lady of Fatima, devotion to St. Anne, First Saturday observances, and Divine Mercy Sunday.
For many years, Johannah faithfully led the daily rosary following Mass and the consecration classes to the Blessed Virgin Mary. She served as a Eucharistic Minister to the sick, bringing the presence and comfort of Christ to those unable to attend Mass. She also organized and participated in numerous pilgrimages to shrines throughout the United States and Canada, and coordinated parish trips to the Sight & Sound Theatre in Lancaster, Pennsylvania. She enjoyed spending time in both the Poconos and Florida for many years with her family and friends.
Johannah's steadfast faith, generous spirit, and unwavering devotion to her family and parish community will be remembered with deep gratitude and loved by all who knew her.
A viewing will be held on Friday May 8th from 11 A.M. to 12 P.M. with Mass of Christian Burial to be celebrated at 12 P.M. at St. John the Beloved Church, 907 Milltown Road, Wilmington, Delaware 19808. Interment will follow at All Saints Cemetery.
Special thanks to the nurses and staff of Accent Care Hospice and CCHS Visiting Nurses, whose care, compassion, and kindness will forever be appreciated.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to St. John the Beloved Parish.
May she rest in peace.
