Joan M. Goodwin, age 50, passed away at Compassionate Care Hospice at St. Francis Hospital on January 31, 2018. Born in Queens, NY, she was the daughter of Rita (Cronin) and Francis M. Goodwin. She was a big fan of the NY Jets and an avid animal lover. She worked diligently on the 2016 City of Wilmington mayoral campaign and was a member of St. Elizabeth Catholic Church.In addition to her parents, Joan is survived by her sister, Donna M. Braun (Brad) of Glenwood Landing, NY; her brothers, Patrick Goodwin (Elizabeth) and John Goodwin, both of Long Island, NY; her godson, Nicholas Braun; her nieces and nephews, Bethany Goodwin, James Goodwin, and Meghan Braun; and her three close friends, Jessica, Chris, and Donna.A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Saturday February 3rd 2018 at St. Elizabeth's Catholic Church, 809 S Broom St, Wilmington, DE 19805, at 12PM where friends and family are invited to a visitation after 10:30AM. Burial will be in St. Charles' Cemetery in Farmingdale, NY. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests contributions to the Delaware Ovarian Cancer Foundation, 701 Sweetleaf Drive Wilmington, DE 19808.
