Jeffrey Joseph
Sidell
March 19, 1958 – February 19, 2024
Jeffrey Joseph Sidell, age 65, of Clayton, DE passed away peacefully on February 19th, 2024.
Born in Chestertown, MD, he was the son of the late Nancy (Weber) and Robert L. Sidell. Jeff spent years in restaurant and kitchen management, including Dilworth Town Inn and Dock's Pub and Restaurant. From there he ventured into door-to-door meat and seafood sales and delivery. He built a strong network of customers that loved him and followed him into his next greatest accomplishment. Chef Jeff opened his own catering business, Chateau Specialties, where he catered for residential and corporate customers. Most recently, Jeff enjoyed and excelled in sales for AAA.
Aside from his work, Jeff always had a zest for life, but even more than that, a strong love for his family. He shared his love of boating, fishing, and crabbing with them. The best crabbing spot to take his boat "Nessie" was on the Wye River and his favorite fishing spot was Turkey Point on the Chesapeake Bay. He also loved problem solving, woodworking, and crafting things for his loved ones. Many of Jeff's family and friends will also remember the many poker and golf games. He always had a special way of connecting with people whether by his hobbies, his humor, his cooking, or his love. He will be dearly missed by those closest to him as a father, brother, uncle and friend.
In addition to his parents, Jeff was proceeded in death by his brother, Thomas Sidell. Jeff is survived by his wife, Debbie Sidell; his children, Aaron Sidell (Julia), Alexandra "Alex" Sidell, and Adrienne Merillo (Mark); his siblings, Robert Sidell (Debra), Kim Christy (Stephen), Kathe Sidell, Mark Sidell (Kathryn), Christopher Sidell (Toni), Theresa Sidell Reid (Garry) and Patrick Sidell (Mary); and a host of nieces, nephews, and extended family.
