Jean Irene Porter, age 78, of Wilmington, DE went to her heavenly home on February 8, 2025 surrounded by her family.

Born in Wilmington, Jean was the daughter of the late Irene Jean (Niedzworski) and Roy Bayard Watson. She graduated from Dickinson High School continuing her education at the Secretarial School of Wilmington. Jean was a hard worker and always left the company operating better than when she started. She was supervisor at Dupont's Louviers location and for over ten years she worked at the Delaware Department of Public Health earning herself the Governor's award for her dedication and work ethic.  Most importantly, she was a homemaker for her husband and children. She absolutely loved crafting and was particularly skilled at knitting, cross stitching, and teaching classes on various crafts. Jean operated a children's clothing boutique for a time in Kennett Square. She also enjoyed spending time with her family and friends in Ocean City, MD and was an excellent cook for her family.

Jean is survived by her loving and devoted husband of 58 years, Alan E. Porter; her daughter and son-in-law, Kimberly and Michael Barbera; her son, Alan E. Porter; her grandchildren, Amanda, Melissa, Lindsay, Anthony, Dominic, and Allison; her great grandchildren, Katelyn, George, Kyle, Mason, Nate, Noah, and Elijah; and her brothers, Tom Watson (Diane), and Roy Bayard Watson.

Funeral services will be held privately for the family. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests contributions to Alzheimer's Association, 399 Market St., Suite 250 Philadelphia, PA 19106.
