Janet L O'Donnell, age 66 of Wilmington, DE, passed away peacefully surrounded by her family on Friday, September 8, 2023.

Janet was born in Wilmington, DE daughter of the late Barbara (Sidwell) and James R. Wahl Sr. She graduated from Ursuline Academy and attended University of Delaware. She went on to work in the insurance industry, for 40 years before retiring from Chubb as a processing manager. Janet treasured time spent with her family, especially her 3 grandchildren who were the light of her life. When she wasn't cheering on the Philadelphia Phillies and Eagles, she would be enjoying her iPad, trips to the beach or going to yard sales. Janet also looked forward to her Bowser trips.

Janet was predeceased by her parents, Barbara (Sidwell) and James Wahl, and her sister-in- law, Sue Wahl.

Janet is survived by her loving husband of almost 41 years James O'Donnell Sr.; children, Kelly, James (Brienna) and Megan O'Donnell; grandchildren, Aaliyah, Jose, and Colin; siblings, James (Carlie) Wahl, Horace Wahl, Catherine (Martin) Knowles, and Ronald Wahl; and a host of nieces, nephews, extended family, and friends.

A visitation will be held on Monday, September 18, 2023, at Mealy Funeral Homes, 2509 Limestone Road, Wilmington, DE 19808, where friends and family may call from 5 to 8pm. A mass of Christian Burial will be held on Tuesday, September 19, 2023 at St. Helena's Roman Catholic Church, 602 Philadelphia Pike, Wilmington, DE 19809 at 11 am. Burial will follow at Silverbrook Cemetery.
