Janet L. Binkley, age 74, of Bear, DE, passed away peacefully at her home on Saturday, June 6, 2020 surrounded by her family and friends. Born in Wilmington, Janet was the daughter of the late Lawrence and Wilhelmina (Spinken) Stirlith. She was a graduate of Dickenson High School and attended Goldey Beacom College and the University of Delaware . Many years ago she was an insurance adjuster for Nationwide, she also worked at Milburn Orchards in Elkton Maryland. For ten years, she worked as a bus attendant for the Christina School District until her retirement. She enjoyed traveling to Chincoteague Island every year and going to Delaware Park. She loved animals and owned several Chincoteague ponies and many beloved dogs throughout the years. Her many hobbies included reading, knitting, collecting, arts and crafts, making mini gardens and shopping for thoughtful gifts. She was an expert conversationalist and loved to relay her many memories. She was a generous loving person who treated all who knew her as family. Janet will be dearly missed by her husband of 49 years, Barry J. Binkley, Sr.; her daughter, Lynn Carbone (Jason); her son, Barry J. Binkley, Jr. (fiancée, Regina Eldreth), all of Newark; and her beloved grandson, John H. Dill II. Friends and family are invited to visitation on Friday, June 12th after 5 PM where funeral services will begin at 7 PM.
