Jan J. Chanko, 100 passed away peacefully at his home on Saturday, March 13, 2021. Jan was born in Swedesburg, PA, the son of the late Aniela (Swaider) and Peter Chanko. Jan was a World War II veteran who joined the Army Air Force Service and was assigned to the Strategic Services in the Asiatic-Pacific Theater Campaigns. He was predeceased by his wife of 54 years, Julia McGovern Chanko in 1999. Jan is survived by his son and his wife, Gary and Joby Chanko of Simpsonville, SC; his daughters and their husbands, Janet and Rob Mays of Newark, DE and Kris and Jeff Jones of Loxahatchee, FL; and his grandsons, Ryan and Kyle Chanko and Matthew Mays.
