James, called "Pat "by his family and "Jim" by his friends and his wife Mary Ann, was a man of many talents. He played the guitar beautifully, in a band during high school, and whenever he had the opportunity after that. He could fix almost any household problem by himself, so he rarely had to call a plumber or any other technician. He loved dogs and enjoyed the company of three of them during his marriage of 36 years. He also loved to travel. He and his wife spent wonderful summers in France, Spain, Costa Rica, Mexico, and Canada, and traveled to Colorado, New Mexico, Arizona, Texas, and California in the United States.

Jim worked for the Department of Labor for the State of Delaware for 36 years. After retiring, he and his wife bought a beach house in Rehoboth, where they went often to relax and enjoy the ocean.

Jim is survived by his loving wife, Mary Ann, his adoring sister Christine (husband Michael Hudack) and two wonderful twins, his niece, Melaina and his nephew Michael.

A visitation for Jim will be held on Monday, February 6, 2023, at the Mealey Funeral Home, 2509 Limestone Rd, Wilmington, DE 19808, where friends and family may call from 11AM to 12PM, with a memorial service following at 12PM. Burial will be held privately.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations in Jim's name to St. Jude's Children's Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
