Age 77, of Newark, DE. Passed away peacefully on Saturday, February 18, 2017 at home surrounded by his loving family after a long and courageous battle with cancer.Born in Hockessin, DE. To the late Anna (Kafader) and Louis Persoleo, Sr. Jim was employed as an expert tile setter with various companies and later worked for the Delaware River and Bay Authority. Jim was an avid gardener and took great pride in growing (and sharing) his tomatoes. He loved to fish and always enjoyed playing with his grandchildren. Jim kept track of the weather forecasts daily, often checking multiple weather stations. He is predeceased by his daughter-in law Shannon Persoleo, two sisters and three brothers.Jim is survived by his loving wife of 46 years Sharon (Morrison) Persoleo, his two sons J.R. Persoleo of Middletown, DE. and David Persoleo and his wife Jessica of Wilmington, DE. Also surviving are three grandchildren, Ella, Jackson, and Henry as well as nieces and nephews.A visitation with the family will be held at the MEALEY FUNERAL HOME, 2509 Limestone Road, Wilmington DE. 19808 on Wednesday, February 22 from 6PM to 8PM and on Thursday, February 23 from 10 AM until the time of the funeral service at 11 AM.
