James F. Ireland, 72 of Wilmington passed away peacefully on September 1, 2022 at the Cadia Nursing Home.

Jimmy was born in Wilmington, the son of the late Dorothy (Conway) and Joseph F. Ireland. He was a graduate of Conrad High School and a graphic artist and photo type setter for ICI America for over ten years.  Jimmy was an avid New York Giants and Philadelphia Flyers fan and a former patron of Scotti's/Comegys Pub.  In addition to his parents, Jimmy was predeceased by his brother, Joseph F. Ireland, Jr. and his sister-in-law, Teresa Ireland.

Jimmy is survived by his brother, Terrance D. Ireland of Wilmington; his nieces, Lisa and Katie Ireland; his nephews, John, David, Patrick and Joseph Ireland, III and many cousins.

A visitation will be held at the MEALEY FUNERAL HOME, 2509 Limestone Road, Wilmington on Thursday, September 22, 2022 from 4:00PM to 5:00PM.  Burial will be private.  In lieu of flowers, the family suggests contributions to the Jack Ireland Scholarship Fund c/o Salesianum School, 1801 N. Broom Street, Wilmington, DE 19802.
